The Cure hit the nail on the head with their description of Monday in one of thir songs..LOL. Even if you love your job, sometimes you'd just rather stay in bed. Well, I surely didn't come any closer on "my quest" today! Work was ok even though there's a fair amount of pressure on us right now; however, it's actually a good thing that we're "backed up" with projects! In my business, if you don't work, you don't eat!
I find it interesting that the longer we live, the more some of us begin to realize how many selfish (or so it seems) people may be involved in our lives. Some want to emotionally drain us, some physically and other's materially. Unfortunately, I have one individual who has suceeded today in two of these categories. It seems as if some revel in the act of causing pain or problems for others. It's also very surreal to realize how some are content to watch "the ship sink" without lending or even offering a helping hand. Don't get me wrong, I don't want to send a message of gloom and doom..LOL. The "good" ones always help combat negative situations, even if they don't realize it (Thanks Henda!).
Obviously, I've had a pretty rough day - the light at the end of the tunnel is red shifting according to the Doppler Effect. Wouldn't it be nice if Newton's third law, "for every action, there is an equal and opposite reaction," could be applied to everything! But I'm not "down for the count," yet that is. There's always the possibility of pulling a rabbit or two out of the hat before throwing in the towel. Well, it's late, tomorrow is already here and I need to retire. Hopefully tomorrow will be a new and better day :)

Well, here goes.....
It's Sunday morning and I just got off the phone with my sis. She put me onto the whole "blogging" idea. I must start out by saying that I am not a writer an have very little creative ability - LOL. This does seem like a good avenue to not only express yourself but to also let the world read about a very small piece of your world in this neverending universe.
Well, everyone has a unique blog title and I'm sure some may be wondering about mine - "binary-star-quest? What's that?" I'm an astronomy lover and this seemed like an appropriate title. A binary star system consists of two stars which orbit around a common point - this happens to be their center of mass. Each star is the other's companion. The type of binary star system I am referring to is called a visual binary. In a visual binary system, both stars orbit each other; however, one of the stars is generally brighter than the other. Out of all the stars visible, only a small percentage are classified as visual binaries.
Now that we've got an elementary handle on what I'm talking about, I'll explain why I chose this title. The majority of people in our world are very similar - get up, go to work (or school, etc), come home (or go out) and go to bed - just to get ready to do it all over again the next day. I've been guilty of doing this for quite a long time!! The one's who are involved in a relationship or are married live a placid existence for the most part (once again, guilty in the past); however, there are a small percenage of people who live life with their eyes open. These folks wake up every day eager, excited to conquer the day and live life to the fullest! They are not content with merely living around their partner, or warming a seat at work, but rather live for and with them.
I have recently experienced some farily major changes in my life. Watching your own personal empire fall is never easy; being reduced financially and emotionally has been a real challenge. However, although I may have lost some material possessions, my existence is beginning to change. I am searching for my twin, the companion to fulfill the definition of a binary star. And I'm not referring to one item (i.e. a woman); for me, this is defined by a mind set, a way of life which encompasses all things - relationships, career, hobbies, religion, etc. I will update my "little space in the universe" as I continue on this quest.
